Should I Write a Fan Fiction?

Fan fiction is a popular genre, combining beloved characters and stories with your own creative touches. But before you start, it’s important to reflect on what draws you to the idea and what you want to achieve. This exploration could be a journey into the world of two long-time friends and more. Let's delve into a snapshot of their story, a blend of friendship, romance, and the unpredictability of life.

Chapter One: Heartless

You wake up to the sound of water running in the morning, a cozy reminder of the familiar sounds of home. As you stretch, a presence joins you in the room. Jin walks up to you, whispering something into your ear. The words are barely audible, but they make you smile. Jimin and Yoongi are cuddled together, their proximity evident in their cozy position.

“Yoonmin, you’re so cute,” you whisper, watching Jimin’s small smile form on his lips. You’re just drifting off again when the door bursts open. Jungkook rushes in, nudging you and sending you into a mischievous smirk. You step on his foot, telling him to be quiet. “Ow!” he exclaims, then breaks into laughter. You blush and look away. Yoongi gently puts his finger on Jimin’s lips, making him silent. Jimin watches Yoongi wink at you. Jimin seems to read your lips as you say ‘thank you,’ and Jimin nods, settling on Yoongi’s shoulder.

Out of the corner of your eye, you notice Taehyung watching you. You turn around and wave. Taehyung springs up and hugs you. Jungkook joins in, and suddenly you’re enveloped in warmth. Jin watches, his eyes following the group.

You get a sudden surge of heat, but a palpable feeling of being loved. Jin turns around, starting to cut peppers. You step behind him and place your hands on his shoulders, making him jump slightly. Without hesitation, you lean in and kiss him lightly on the cheek. “What are you making?” you ask, his reaction frozen momentarily as he turns his head to meet your eyes.

You’re about to walk away when he grabs your wrist, pulling you close. He holds your waist with his free hand, his hand close to the bottom of your shirt. You can’t help the blush that starts creeping up your cheeks. You watch him, and while the others are engaged, his gaze shifts to you. Suddenly, he turns you towards him and kisses you unexpectedly. The moment is brief, but you’re left with a sense of preparedness for the rest of the day. He smiles, rubbing your hand and looking at your friendship ring, a gift from your childhood friend, with a gem representing your favorite colors. You’ve had it for five years now.

He looks at the gem while you think, “This is what friends do, right?”

You sit on the couch, where you first woke up, lost in thought. Jin’s words echo in your mind. “Something special... like a wedding!” Jimin fingers a ponytail in your hair, tapping you gently. “What was Jin talking about, and why me?”

Should I Post the Rest?

The question lingers. Should you continue this story? The risks, the benefits, and the what-ifs all swirl around in your mind. Writing fan fiction can be a deeply rewarding experience, but it comes with its own set of challenges. Here’s a checklist to help you decide:

Originality: Can you add a unique twist to the characters and their relationships? Credit: Is it respectful to the original creators and the existing fan base? Sensitivity: Are you aware of the potential impact on your audience and the original characters? Community: Are you prepared to engage with and support the fan community?

Ultimately, the decision is yours. This isn’t just about continuing a story; it’s about embracing your creative journey and the bonds you form along the way. So, should you write the rest? Only you can answer that, but whether you do or not, the story will live on in your heart.
