Isildur: The First Ring Bearer

Isildur, the son of Elendil, was the first to bear the One Ring after Sauron’s defeat. During the War of the Last Alliance, Sauron was severely injured and cut from his body by Isildur, who spared the ring, not realizing its true power. This act of kindness led to Isildur's downfall. After Isildur was killed, his son Elendil and the Hobbits departed for the safety of the Undying Lands, leaving the One Ring with the Uruk-hai.

Deagol and Smeagol: The Luck of the Inheritance

Deagol, a Sto locked in Smeagol's history, accidentally found the One Ring while fishing in the Gladden Fields. His friend, Smeagol, who was envious and bitter, murdered Deagol for the ring, thus gaining possession of it. This cruel inheritance set Smeagol on a dark path, transforming him into Gollum, a creature divided between his old self and his new, corrupted selfish self.

Bilbo Baggins: The Birth of a Hero

Bilbo Baggins, a hobbit from the Shire, discovered the ring much later in his life, when it passed into the ownership of his uncle, Smaug. Bilbo, after venturing into an cavern, found the ring and brought it with him to the Shire. Here, he used its powers to escape notice, but more importantly, he decided to leave it behind for a secret bid 'auf Wiedersehen'. Holding onto the ring for 50 years, he eventually handed it over to Frodo upon his retirement, marking a pivotal moment.

Frodo Baggins: The Final Journey

Frodo Baggins, a simple hobbit of the Shire, was entrusted with the One Ring and became the key figure in its last purpose, which was to destroy it in the fires of Mount Doom in Mordor. Frodo, along with his loyal companion Samwise Gamgee, Gandalf, Meriadoc Brandybuck, and Peregrin Took, embarked on the journey that would determine the fate of Middle-earth. Their journey was fraught with danger, and they fought against incredible odds, facing challenges that tested their courage and faith.

The End of the One Ring

After many struggles, the group reached Mount Doom, where Gollum betrayed Frodo, leaving him to fight for the ring with Sauron's fiery ruler. With the assistance of his loyal friend Sam, Frodo eventually managed to toss the One Ring into the fiery depths of Mount Doom, destroying Sauron in the process and ending the era of evil that had dominated Middle-earth for so long.
