The Power of Reading: How Many Novels Did You Read Last Year?

As a SEO specialist, books are not just a hobby but a tool for continuous personal and professional growth. The number of novels one reads can significantly impact their mindset, actions, and communication skills. The potential exists for individuals who read 30 books a year to gain a broader knowledge base compared to those who read only 7 books annually.

My Reading Habit

I typically manage to read about 18 books a year. However, my reading pace varies due to the nature of the books I choose. For instance, since I focus almost entirely on nonfiction, I often engage in additional activities like word studies and supplementary video watching. These activities enrich my reading experience and make the knowledge more memorable, hence preventing it from being 'read and forgotten.'

Recent Reading

To date, I have completed a total of 91 books. Today, I successfully finished Graham Greene's The Quiet American. Currently, I am reading Sherman Alexie's memoir, You Don't Have to Say You Love Me. Although I have several shorter books on my bedside table, I am not sure if I will achieve 100 books by the end of January.

2023 Reading Statistics

So far in 2023, I have read a total of 214 books, combining paper books, eBooks, and audiobooks. If you need some recommendations, here are a handful of books I enjoyed:

1 The Quiet American by Graham Greene 2 You Don't Have to Say You Love Me by Sherman Alexie 3 The Hen Who Dreamed She Could Fly by Sun-mi Hwang 4 The Seven Good Years by Etgar Keret 5 Will My Cat Eat My Eyeballs? by Caitilin Doughty 6 Victory Song by Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni 7 The Good Doctor of Warsaw by Elisabeth Gifford 8 The Pauper Prince and The Eucalyptus Jinn by Usman T. Malik 9 Lab Girl by Hope Jahren 10 Ghachar Ghochar by Vivek Shanbhag 11 The Etymologicon by Mark Forsyth

My Writing and Books

In addition to reading, I have also published around seven books this year. Although most of them were reworkings of older materials, I did engage in extensive reading during this period. I have purchased numerous books and delved into various genres including short stories, essays, and poetry.
