The man who never steps outside his world of blank faces over three-piece suits, relentlessly revolving clocks, data-soldiers deployed on a computer battleground, and dollar signs marching down gray-matter corridors may get richer by the minute but will grow poorer by the second. There is no poverty more profound or more shameful than the failure to use our five senses. There is no conceivable slum worse than a slum of the spirit.
