Despite the long wait, the anticipation remains high. When the next book comes out, I'll be just as eager as a ravenous wolf, ready to dive in. Though I can't help but wonder, does the wait ever end?

There have been signs of renewed interest from the author, like hints about the book’s content in a recent blog post. Martin is attempting to divert attention from the delay by keeping fans engaged with these tidbits. However, this approach has its drawbacks; it feels more like a distraction than a genuine engagement strategy.

Waiting for 'The Winds of Winter'

Until George R.R. Martin finishes writing The Winds of Winter, I have no plans of engaging with any of his other projects. His focus on side projects has left me feeling a bit fatigued. I eagerly await TWOW, but life has its distractions, such as the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

I started watching the show a year ago, and by that time, the books were a much better experience compared to the adaptation. The books, in my opinion, far surpassed the television series in every aspect. I was hooked and delved into every companion book, including A Game of Thrones: A Song of Ice and Fire in just two days.

Reading the books remains on my list, regardless of if they are ever published. My interest has not waned and is unlikely to diminish over the next five years. However, I am pragmatic and am prepared for the possibility that the books might never see the light of day. The show's ending, whether good or bad, will be my focus for now.
