Fictional Characters I Strongly Dislike Despite Their Good Deeds

Hate is a strong word, but when it comes to certain fictional characters, it's not too much of an exaggeration. I strongly dislike some characters despite their heroic or good deeds, influenced by a blend of personality traits and actions that, in my opinion, overshadow their better moments. Let's delve into the characters I strongly dislike and why.

What fictional character do you hate even though they are not evil?

Rhett from the Land Before Time TV Series: Rhett is a character who portrays himself as a heroic longneck but is actually quite unlikeable. He was mean to two of his friends and fabricated stories to fool others. Even when he changed his ways, his actions earlier cannot be forgotten. His heroic deeds, such as saving his herd from many sharpteeth, are overshadowed by his mean and manipulative behavior. Similarly, Rhett's running away from a little sharptooth when it was just a playful encounter was not in line with the character's heroic image he tried to project.

Other Characters I Don't Like

While Rhett is the most prominent character in question, there are a few others I don't like for specific reasons:

Danny Chase from New Titans: He is not a character I enjoy, but as a Phantasm, he is cool. My dislike is not due to the actor or the creators but my personal preference. Cousin Oliver from The Brady Bunch: Interestingly, he resembles Danny Chase very closely, which adds to my dislike. Scrappy-Doo: He is not a character I am a fan of, but that's about it. Scrappy-Doo is well-known for his rebellious and often mischievous nature, which can be bothersome for some viewers.

Willow from Buffy the Vampire Slayer

Perhaps the most notable strong dislike is for Willow Rosenberg. Willow was one of the core members of the Scooby Gang and a defender of the world against evil, but I strongly dislike her. Her actions and personality traits have made me even more annoyed over time. She is emotionally manipulative, self-centered, and a bully. Her behavior is a significant reason why I do not appreciate her character.

Willow's actions in season 6, when she is temporarily evil, are a small part of the show but have a significant impact. Even though she reverts back to being a good character, her actions earlier are not easily forgotten. Her flaws are exacerbated by the fact that Buffy fans often place her on a pedestal, making it even more frustrating for me. Similarly, characters like Spike, who attempted to rape a character, are still highly disliked despite attempts to justify their behavior. In contrast, Xander, who has done less harmful things, is unfairly vilified by some fans, while he does not deserve the hate he receives.

My dislike for Willow is much more straightforward and justified, as her character traits and actions are evident throughout the show. It is clear that she is a problematic element, and her redemption arcs are still overshadowed by her initial actions.
