Introduction

Throughout history, many have reported experiencing divine voices, whether in dreams or visions. This article explores some of these experiences and their significance. From dreams shared by friends of the author to biblical insights, we will delve into the ways in which peoplefrom all walks of life and faiths relate to God.

Dreams and Religious Experiences

Personal Experiences

Have you ever talked to God in a dream or did he ever speak to you in a vision? Often, these experiences can be attributed to accidental factors, such as falling asleep with the radio on. However, there are countless instances where people report profound revelations through dreams.

As a missionary, the author has encountered many missionaries who shared stories of Jesus appearing in dreams to Muslims, converting them to Christianity. These stories are so common that Christians in Muslim-majority nations consider them ordinary rather than miraculous. If you are a Muslim and have had a dream about Jesus, know that you are not alone. You are part of a vast community of believers.

Divine Communication in Christianity

Biblical Basis

While dreams and visions are not universally recognized as divine communication, Christianity has a rich tradition of such experiences. According to the Bible, Yehovah, the God of the man Christ Jesus, speaks to Adam and humanity through Christ. Before being born, Christ was the Angel of Yehovah, and other angels are considered messengers dispatched by Elohiym.

The terms used to describe these divine voices are significant. Christ’s words become the Spirit or the Expressed Mind of God, often known as the Holy Spirit. Mary of Nazareth’s pregnancy by an unknown party raised questions in the community, but Joseph, her husband, received a dream from the Angel of Yehovah, instructing him to marry her and raise Jesus as his son.

Divine Authority and the Law

The Law and the Gospel

The Old Covenant, or the Law, is seen as a guide for human righteousness. However, it is also a harbinger of death, as those who fail to keep it are subject to condemnation. The New Covenant, represented by the New Testament, brings the Law to life through the fulfillment of Christ’s mission. According to biblical doctrine, Jesus perfectly fulfilled the Law and became the Quickening Spirit, offering the authority to forgive sin and bring new life to eternal beings.

The Law and the Gospel are interconnected. Those who embrace the forgiveness offered by Christ are considered part of the Tree of Israel, while those who reject it are seen as bastards or mamzarim, not under the protection of God’s covenant. This reveals the profound impact of divine communication and the importance of faith in God’s revelations.

Conclusion

Whether through dreams or visions, divine communication can be a powerful force in one's life. For Muslims and Christians alike, such experiences can lead to profound spiritual transformation. Understanding the biblical basis for these phenomena can provide insights into the nature of divine interaction and the importance of faith in one's spiritual journey.
